Sunday Diaries

I haven’t blogged for a week and I have a perfectly good reason for that. I’m busy. Ok, everyone is busy. Midterm week is here and it’s about time to get down to business and start facing the books instead of Facebook. I guess that’s a good enough reason for my absence. Hey, I’m a senior in college and I have thesis for crying out loud! It’s my ticket to march on March so forgive me if I rant too much about it. That’s already normal in the IS world.

Anyway, KUNG HEI FAT CHOI everyone!

In other news, I spend the whole afternoon til dinner with my favorite person. It’s his first time to come and visit me this year and first time to have dinner since he usually leaves before we have dinner. Isn’t it wonderful how people make it a point to find time with each other despite the busy schedules? Yes. That’s how it is with me and Kirk. We have different courses and different appointments but at the end of the day, we have each other (cheeeeessssyyyyy).

Thinking of what to do for Valentine’s Day HAHAHAHA

Happy long weekend!

Neutrals

With our uniforms back in style, I have no choice but to wear them (of course). I wouldn’t want my ID hanging at the school guard’s station with a masking tape on it and signed: Not wearing uniform. School has officially resumed with no time to alter my extremely messed up body clock plus loads of school work already lined up.

Today was jam-packed! An early class for thesis and by early I mean 8:30am. I think I left my productive system last year. KIDDING! I need that even more this year. Following my class was a meeting with my French groupmates for our upcoming reporting about Lyon, France! Exciting! Lastly, we attended the prayer vigil entitled Remembering Sendong at McArthur Park.

It’s More Fun In The Philippines

I love the new slogan of DOT. It’s More Fun In The Philippines that is why I opted to wear something that goes with our flag. Blue, Yellow and Red. Honestly, I wanted to wear something laid back for a stressful day. I was prepared for all the work and meetings to be done so I wanted something simple. I stumbled upon my sister’s gift which was the shirt and thought about extending the colors of the shirt to this ensemble. Three cheers for the red, yellow and blue!

My sister bought this shirt here: Bits and Pieces | Bought those belts outside TriNoma for Php10 only.

I would like to share with you a promo that Philippine Beaches DOT org + Airphil Express had collaborated to promote DOT’s new slogan. It’s open to anyone who has a Facebook or Twitter account and who knows, maybe you could be the lucky winner of a roundtrip domestic-destination ticket care of Airphil Express. More about the promo HERE.

Loathing of Pants

Most of us know (and maybe some of you don’t) that my school is very conservative when it comes to dressing up. There are certain dress codes that ought to be followed. For example: sleeveless, slippers, shorts and skimpy skirts (talk about a lot of SSSSS??) are not allowed when entering upon the school premises hence the wearing of the ever-so-used apparel that is PANTS.

Pants will never be my bestfriend and it shall never be on my favorite garment list. Why? I am vertically challenged with a hip line of 25 to 26 inches and when it comes to shopping for a pair, I usually have a hard time. They’re either too long or too short or sometimes when they’re just the right length, they don’t fit me well. Probably the only time I’ll have the perfect pair is when I have it custom-made. But then I again, I don’t have a choice. It’s just a matter of exuding your everyday outfit with it.

In other news…

I woke up early today. I have met again my everyday dilemma which is parking space hence being late with my 10 o’clock meeting with Sir Jal. I had zero idea about what he would make do until I saw these:

Two of my other professors said that I was good at this (flattering) so he assigned this task. I had to choose fabrics for the next batch’s OJT uniform.

Plenty of school work has lined up already. 10 weeks and 4 days to go!

School Journal

School has embarked for 2012 and I am not yet ready to face my beast-friend that is stress!!! With no choice, I have to. So how was your day? As for me, I had a meeting already and it’s because of the upcoming MISS this February in Davao City. It was a really informal meeting and hopefully we’ll have another meeting this or next week.

With only three more months left of my college years, I’ll be making the most out of it and it started today!

Trip Down to CU Medical Center

Last year (2011), I discovered that there was a lump on the right side of my breast. I didn’t bother doing anything about it since during one of my conversations with my bestfriend, Patrice, she also had one and it just disappeared. So I assumed that mine would do the same. Or so I thought.

When I witnessed the Glitterati fashion show last December, I saw one of the models who was a friend of my friend. She told me that that model had an operation because of the lump on her breast. It then ring a bell that my lump was still existing. I rattled and told my friends and Kirk about it. I didn’t know what to do; I was scared. I don’t like hospitals and operations and the likes. They were convincing me that I should tell my parents about it but all I was thinking about was the expense (Yes, so silly of me). The moment they started scolding me (especially Lauren), I then told Mom and I felt like I was having a heart attack because I was so nervous.

The minute I did, Mom was getting worried and scheduled a check-up with an Oncologist. Last December 21 (or was it 22), I met Dr. Tiro. She observed my lump and said that she’s not worried about it but suggested that it’s best to get a breast ultrasound. So, earlier today, I had my ultrasound.

Here’s a little tour of my journey in the ultrasound center.

The result: CYST

The good news is that there was no mass found which means it’s cancer-free but we’ll have to forward the results with my doctor and wait on whatever she decides. For now, I’ll just think positive.. and of course, pray to our Lord!

It’s the third day of three hundred sixty-six days and what makes it special is that it’s Mom’s 4*th birthday. I wont spill the beans on her true age since she stopped counting when she was 40. So, there’s a clue, her age is above 40.

My vest is from a thrift store and it’s worth P10 only. Anyway, I had a hard time looking for the perfect gift for Mom. I went circling around in the mall and stopped by NBS to check if there was anything conducive for a birthday present, then I saw their display of Parker pens. It reminded me that Mom had lost her favorite Parker pen that Tita gave to her a couple of years ago. I also remembered that there was a store in the mall which sells Parker pens and so I went their and bought the exact type (not the same color though) and (of course) Mom loved it!

Happy Birthday again to the BEST MOM in the world!!

Two Zero One Two

I welcomed the New Year in a really dolled up manner to remind myself for the whole 2012 that dressing up has no limits and that it takes a whole lot more than just T-shirts and jeans to work it. At least, that’s what I think. It’s a confidence booster and a form of self-expression so this year, I’ll be dressing up more.

Vote for my look at CHICTOPIA.

I curled my hair earlier that evening and I’m surprised that it was starting to go back to its normal style after the NYE mass. Maybe the hair spray didn’t hold it tight. Nevertheless, I love the messy curled style.

The mango float that Tara, Dits and myself had complicatedly made. By complicated, I mean the crashing of the grahams part since Mom forgot to buy those crashed ones already. Not being biased but it taste good! My cousins finished one pyrex of it that night and when I woke up, the other pyrex was already empty. No doubt about that.

Of course, after the NYE feast, we have our long-established street party.

We have a thing for see-through tops

For a shining, shimmering, splendid year!

The Year That Was: 2011

As 2011 is coming to close end, we say hello to the most awaited year that is 2-0-1-2 (a la Jay sean). With that comes togas and diplomas. I’m beginning to smell them and that’s the one thing I’m looking forward to on 2012 and hoping for a stable job too! Yes, please? As I say Au Revoir to 2011, here’s a recap of my favorite events.

NYE 2011

We welcomed 2011 with our traditional street party and partied til dawn.

MY LAST BAR SESSION

In February of 2011, it marked my last clubbing sessions and I haven’t partied since then. I am already an officer of our organization and going to bars on the weekends had to be revoked from my schedule.

BAGUIO 2011

We flew to Baguio on March of 2011 to join the graduation of the Philippine Military Academy where in my cousin Karmie, was one of the graduates. I love Baguio because of the cold weather and also I love to travel. It’s my third time to visit the place. More travelling on 2012!

KIRK RED

In the year 2011, I met my favorite person in the world, Kir. I’ve never been happier. For a stronger relationship on 2012 and the upcoming years! I love you!

DIPLOMATIC BALL

This was my first-ever Diplomatic Ball and I’m getting giddy for the 2012 ball because I’ll be the Asst. Project Head. I can’t be project head because I am under the finance officers and we’re only allowed to handle money matters.

OJT AT NATIONAL YOUTH COMMISSION

I lived in Manila for three weeks because we were assigned to have our On-the Job-Training there. I’m so happy that I was able to experience this independent life. Working is not easy, especially if you are working on the SSEAYP Manual (HAHA).

TEEN NO MORE & EMBER

I turned Twenty this year and I finally got my dream phone: Blackberry. I named her Ember, well, Patrice did. I’m not an iPhone person so that’s why I begged to the rents that I want a BB for my no-longer-teen birthday.

INTERNATIONAL STUDIES PREMIERE NIGHT

Also known as the General Assembly. And yes, it’s the very first out-of-school assembly thanks to the officers (US). Grandest and indeed a hell of a success. The first IS song was released too with the full support of the faculty including our Chairperson.

MALAYBALAY ROAD TRIP FOR K’S BIRTHDAY

2 in 1 roadtrip: Kir’s birthday and my meet the parents. Yes, that’s Papa who was our driver.

INTRAMURAL 2011

My last year of being captain and my last ever competition. Nevertheless, I am happy with the bond that I have with my fellow swim-mates.

MALAYSIA & SINGAPORE

Indeed one of thhe best memories of 2011! More travelling on 2012 please!

DAHILAYAN FOR THE THIRD TIME

Instantaneous trip to Dahilayan with Kir’s family at Dahilayan. Good thing Mom said I can go.

FIRST ADC CONVENTION

This has got to be the most stressful event by far of ADC. Holding a convention is not easy and we did in a span of only three weeks.

So there you have it: a recap of my favorite events of 2011 and I’m praying for a fruitful, less drama, more productive, more travelling, good health and etc 2012! Graduation and a job shall be my main goals!
